Re: CEM vD; definitely gonna happen

@giftfish
I'll start getting into it soon enough. I just blasted through a bunch of lines for phase 1 of the Citadel party and only have 3 left, but one should already look fine from Javik, Garrus' I might cut, and Kaidan is the only one left and it's a short line.

That means it's time to tackle the ME2 lines I have waiting. I'll let you know how it goes. I suspect what I'll do is use the timing and weights of the points I can figure out from ME2 and then use words, and hopefully phrases, from ME3, to round out the animation. Tedious to be certain but at under 20 lines I can hack that.

Still...the goodbye scene being an AnimCut thing is really disappointing. So many new lines which sound better but, them's the breaks. Maybe Sir will do something beyond amazing but the hex looks very messy to me.

@all
Well, semi-secretly I really wanted to be done before N7 day. If I have a definitive answer before then on the goodbye scene, I think I'll make that deadline. Since I may never be done, I'll just call this one version 1.4.0 and reserve the zero for tech fixes and other small changes. Hopefully there will never be a 1.5 because hopefully this is it....yeah Joker you're right, it's never over.

@Deager -- I did take a tiny peek yesterday, and as long as the cross game port works, I should be okay. ME2 animations for Thane look identical to ME3. They use just motions of offset bones, no phonemes. Looks like they added the phoneme support to humans in ME3. Femshep lacks them in her convos with Thane in ME1, and I'm guessing they won't be in ME1 either, once we have support.

I'm not sure how it's going for you but I have been able to use ME2 graphs as a base and then I find the chunks of phrases in ME3 for fine tuning. Ever since my crashdump relating to unexpected facefx stuff completely borking my game, I've been only doing edits of existing points to play it ultra safe. So far so good though. About 55 lines left to go which, well, that kind of sucks, but a lot of the big lines are done. It's just a bunch of NPCs on the strip that are mainly left.

@deager -- I haven't tried at all yet. Probably another week or so before I get to it.

Is the bug fixed to add keyframes when none exist?

Not sure. I've just been creative and made sure Jaw+ and m_OW have enough points to do my lines. Generally if those are covered, just about anything is doable.

Plea for help. The actor who voices the "procurement specialist" in the Citadel DLC, who also is the bartender in the same DLC, I have also heard say two lines after Shep arrives in London on the ground. Does anybody out there know what other character this guy may play in either ME3 or even ME2 or ME1?

I can post a video if people need or want help.

I was stumped for a bit, but he actually voices Javik too. I was suprised at how much the voice altering software made it hard to detect. Ike Amadi, he also voices a guardian in Halo 5 https://youtu.be/z-WITuN0_Ew?t=2m14s So in the Procurement specialist scene Javik is actually talking to Traynor :D

Whew. I don't want to jinx this but I think I'll make my N7 deadline. Only one file left, the rowdy phase 2 of the party, is left for audio and lip syncs. Not many lines in there. The goodbye scene will have to remain as is, for now, unless I either figure out the hex or some amazing tool becomes available.

I could of course miss the N7 deadline, but the lip syncs are the most punishing part of this whole deal and they're almost done. I'll start posting some progress...or maybe I'll leave it for you to find the changes if you try it out. :)

And that took all day but starting June 22nd, to figure out how lip syncs worked, I just finished the last line tonight. There's still work to do but finally, finally I'm nearing completion of this version. Now I just want to be a fan of Mass Effect and get back to playing soon.

Thanks for the help everyone. I'm not sure what all will or won't make it into the release but we'll see.

OK, a very public alpha is up. I've never tried this before as I usually prefer betas which are actually branded and have always been used as the final release. But I'm getting really tired working on this mod and I would love some feedback. So, you and the general public can try it out if you're willing to risk an alpha.
